The APSA Centennial Center is dedicated to advancing the political science discipline through a comprehensive array of programs that support research, teaching, and public engagement. The Center offers grant opportunities for traditional research projects as well as larger initiatives, including the development of innovative teaching materials, research partnerships between practitioners and academic experts on pressing public issues, and community-oriented programs aimed at enhancing civic engagement and efficacy. Among its public engagement efforts, the Centennial Center features the Public Scholarship Program, which trains graduate students to blog for The American Political Science Review, and the Pracademic Fellowship Program, which places mid-career faculty in fellowships within federal agencies in Washington, D.C. Additionally, the Center supports the Institute for Civically Engaged Research (ICER), a summer methods workshop that equips political scientists with best practices for conducting rigorous, ethical, and community-engaged research. Through these initiatives, the Centennial Center fosters the growth and impact of political science both within academia and in the broader public sphere.
